YMCA as our first Corporate Member
On Tuesday, 20th September, 2016, we enjoyed what was a milestone meeting for our Club, when we welcomed the YMCA as our first Corporate Member. They will be represented by Amanda Bayfield and, in her absence, by Heidi Garwood. We have for some time had a close relationship with the Yarmouth Branch of the YMCA and, they having become a member of the Club, we hope to continue the association we have established in recent years. Both Amanda and Heidi were present and were inducted by our President Diana Loveland.
We also welcomed another visitor in the person of Serge A. Dihoff a former District Governor of District 7710, North Carolina who happened to be passing through Great Yarmouth on his holiday and who was keen to visit us before leaving for Scotland and returning home next week.
It was Rotarian Gillian Brown’s turn to entertain us this week and she read to us the history of Baxter Bear and detailed some of his experiences from the wartime and up to the present day. It was an unusual subject and thoroughly enjoyed by us all and Gillian was thanked by President Diana who congratulated her on her research and presentation.
