Our New Website
When we started talking in the club a couple of months ago about how we could better publicise our activities, we were focusing on how we could persuade the Hawick News or the Southern Reporter to print the articles which Billy McWatters was sending them. We naturally like to have photos in the press as well to record events such as the donation of the bench to the Cottage Hospital. This discussion came shortly after the launch of the Hawick Online website on which our club has a page as a community group. We try to keep our entry on this up to date, showing Rotary in Hawick to be active, even vibrant.
I felt however that we were missing an opportunity here to have our own presence on the world wide web as Rotary Club of Hawick. Our neighbouring clubs such as Langholm, Innerleithen and Jedburgh have sites of their own which give them opportunities for reports on their activities, mentions of members, and colour photographs of club events. These sites make the clubs seem colourful and attractive, even buzzing! I say
