The Rotary Club of Hucknall along with the Hilltoppers Golf Society raised over £ 7,000 to purchase on 6 brand new sports wheelchairs for Portland College Sports Department. In order to raise the money needed, several events were held; this included a garden party and a golf day.
The specialised wheelchairs now allow for a more inclusive experience within the College’s sports department. In order to make sure the new wheelchairs were suitable, representatives from both groups were invited to play a few matches against the students.
