International Charity Evening - buffet & music at The Cinnamon Lounge

Curry and music at the Cinnamon Lounge

We are holding an International Charity Evening at the Cinnamon Lounge in Ripponden, to raise funds for our choosen charity projects: Equiping an Eye Hospital in Bangladesh.

This is a buffet style dinner (choice of starters, mains, desserts) at The Cinnamon Lounge to raise funds to help equip the Just Eye Hospital in Bangladesh. There will be easy listening music with a live pianist and saxophonist in attendance who will also be open to requests! A raffle has also been organised. Tickets for this are £1.00 and available from the organisers. Tickets are £17.00 each and, due to the generous sponsorship of the restaurant, over 50% of the meal proceeds will go to the hospital.

For tickets (for the event or the raffle), please email either Barry Small (barry.small@gmx.com) or Paul Whiteley (paulwhiteley1947@gmail.com).

This all came about when on Tuesday, 18th of October, members of the International committee visited Tameside Rotary Club. The main speaker - John Miles of Guildford Rotary Club - spoke of the Rotary's "Global Solution" and said that while Rotary have eye projects in India and several other countries, they did not in Bangladesh and so would be very happy to assist us in the project in obtaining equipment. With this in mind they will be vising the Just Help Eye Hospital in Gwainghat Thana in January 2017, to check out the facility and determine how best they can help in conjunction with the Jalabad Rotary in Sylhet. If all goes well we will have completed by December 2017. This charity event will help in giving the Gift of Sight to Thousands who are suffering from Blindness due to Cataracts in Bangladesh
