Helping children with Cerebral Palsy

The PACE Centre in Aylesbury provides intensive education and therapy that helps children with cerebral palsy to unlock their full potential. It also works closely with the families of the children to ensure that they get the day-to-day guidance, counselling and practical help that they need.

Inspired by what they had seen of the work and dedication of the staff at PACE, members of the Rotary Club of Princes Risborough visited the Centre to hand over a cheque for more than £3000. The money is for the purchase of much needed specialist equipment including height-adjustable tables and therapy chairs.

The Rotarians raised money from a number of events through the year and, because PACE was felt to be such a worthwhile cause, the club obtained a district grant from the Rotary Foundation (Rotary’s own charity), which doubled what they had raised.

The photo shows some of the children, staff and Rotarians with PACE Chief Executive Amanda Richardson holding the cheque and, on her right, Rotary Club President John Biggs and on her left last year’s club President Keith Muras.
