News from Newton & District Jubilee Rotary Club, serving Newton-le-Willows, Culcheth, Croft, Winwick, Birchwood & Glazebury, welcomes new President Mike Wilson BEM, a past Rotary District Governor and Paul Harris Fellow (Paul Harris being the founder of our movement) to take the helm for the next 12 months. He is keen that we maintain financial support for the accompanying list of Charities & Causes. As a Club, we are concerned that other local charities and self-help groups, no matter how small, are “slipping through the net” by not making themselves known to us. So, please send details of your Raison d’etre. WE MAY BE ABLE TO HELP BUT IF YOU DON’T ASK WE CANNOT! Meanwhile, fund raising in aid of these and other Rotary Charities continues. Having attended Culcheth Community Day, Birchwood and Croft Carnivals, we are again focusing on the :- CULCHETH BEER FESTIVAL THE DATEN - 8TH & 9TH SEPTEMBER Opportunities still exist for SPONSORS who, for £95, have their name displayed on Their Cask, receive publicity in the Beer Festival Programme and Web Site, get free entry to the Festival for 4 people and the opportunity to place trade literature and advertising stands in the Bar area. This deal and costs can be shared with another Sponsor. Major Sponsorship deals are also available. With live Music, 40 different Beers to sample a Wine & Prosecco Bar and Hog Roast, we are sure that Sponsors and members of the Public attending will not be disappointed. For further details, please call 01925 763577 or visit the Club web site. Until further notice, we will be meeting at the Culcheth Sports Club (Daten) on Tuesday evenings 7-00 for 7-30 where we have a single course dinner, listen to speakers and conduct our business. Rotary offers friendship, a full social life, a Ladies “Inner Wheel” Club and the opportunity to help others help themselves as the attached list indicates. If You are interested, phone Bernard Groom on 01925 733893 to find out more about us or visit us on Facebook or Twitter.
