Oswestry Christmas Parade

The 50th annual Oswestry Christmas Parade
As usual, Borderland’s parade organiser Jonathan Jones has asked us to help with the two main jobs: collecting for local charities, and traffic marshalling. I’ve told him that five of us will help as traffic marshals:
David Gordon, Peter Hill, Mike Jones, Viv Jones, Justin Soper
All of us are asked to report to the start point at the Pit Stop (along Lower Brook Street in the direction of Victoria Road) at 10.15 am, when Jonathan will brief everyone in greater detail. I will hand out our Club tabards and those doing the collecting will be supplied with buckets by Borderland.
The Parade starts officially at 11.00 am, following the normal route along Church Street to the Cross where large vehicles split to go up Willow Street and Castle Street. The rest of the parade continues along Cross Street, Leg Street, Beatrice Street (where large vehicles rejoin the Parade), Oswald Road, then back along Cross Street and Church Street.
The Parade’s expected to be even bigger this time than in previous years.
