How we are organised

This gives an insight into our club structure and modus operandi.

Our club is organised into committees running different aspects of club activities. The Chairperson of each committee sits on the club Council together with the Treasurer and Secretary and the chair of Council is occupied by the club President. The Council meets about every six weeks just prior to the Monday evening meeting. The meeting after Council is always devoted to Business when all members are involved in making decisions based on recommendations from Council and receiving reports from the various committee chairpersons. Any member may attend any Council meeting but in practice seldom do as all matters are subsequently brought to the club in the Business meeting.

We have a new President elected to be in situ for a year from the end of June. He in turn will have suggested members to run his various committees and these will also be elected by the membership. This rotation of officers ensures that we do not become stale in office!

All money raised by fundraising events is put into a Trust Fund from where it is distributed to charities and community service activities as agreed by the membership. The Trust Fund is a registered charity and covered by Charity regulations. Separate accounts are kept for all other club funds which are owned by the members.
