Youth Speaks 2017

The 2017 Youth Speaks Competition- both Intermediate and Senior competitions were won by Redhill School.

On Thursday, 19th January the first round of the 2017 Youth Speaks competition was held at Hagley Catholic High School.  

There were two competitions, one for the 11-13 years old age group and the other for the 14-17 years old age group.  As usual the standard was extremely high with a wide range of subjects including “The Celebration of Christmas is now Outdated” and “Love it or Hate it – Marmite Should be Banned”

On this occasion the winners of both competitions were Redhill School. Senior team members were Lauren Whitehouse, Sophia Garbett and Georgia Phillips and Intermediate team members were Aneesa Nawaz, Noah Vanden Brandon and George Devo.

The Rotary Club of Stourbridge is most grateful to the members of the Stourbridge Speakers Club who acted as judges on this occasion.

The two winning teams from Redhill School then went on to the Rotary District 1060 Youth Speaks Final at Bablake School, Coventry held on 4th March and the Club was delighted that both teams came third in their respective classes.
