President Chris presenting a Club Cheque to Rebecca

On 4th April, Rebecca Meteau gave a fascinating talk to Casterbridge Rotarians about the work St Mary's Catholic Primary School in Swanage do with Brother John School in Uganda. As well as educating the children in both schools about life in the other country, the valuable link has already helped to provide new classrooms and fittings, new dormitories, reproofing and gutters for water collection and, probably most importantly, a water purification system which enables the schoolchildren and villagers to have clean water. Previously children were dying from typhoid contracted from contaminated water but the clean water has prevented any further such deaths. Their latest project is to provide a large water storage tank and Casterbridge President Chris Davies was very pleased to make a contribution from the club
