Rotary Shoebox Appeal




The scheme

The Rotary Shoebox Scheme started in 1994 when boxes of gifts were sent at Christmas to children in the city of Lasi, Romania.

Since then the scheme has grown throughout Britain and Ireland and tens of thoudsands of boxes have since been sent to children and families across Eastern Europe.

Countries to benefit have included Romania, Moldova, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo and Croatia.


Filling the boxes

The Rotary supplied shoeboxes should be filled with either of the three types of content:

TOYS: (indicate age and gender)
Suggestions include: Model cars, bouncy balls, yo-yos, dolls, colouring books or notebooks, crayons, coloured pencils or pens, jigsaws, lego/play bricks. (Please don
