Mark Evans - Counter Terrorism

Mark a Security Advisor, and retired police officer, deserved our congratulations on a quick fire delivery of a current matter of great concern to us all.  None the less, he gave a  comprehensive presentation of current threats and the action being taken to counter them

The threats may be placed in three categories:   Domestic Extremism, International and Irish.  Methodology had changed recently to include a  rise of unsophisticated attacks using firearms, vehicles and blunt force weapons and these were in addition to I.E.Ds., cyber attacks and postal weapons.

Sadly, we were reminded of the many examples of the devastating effects of this wickedness in our lifetime.  Mark even showed us a rogues’ gallery of some of the terrorists still being sought!

Much is being done to thwart the terrorist, both behind the scenes (openly and covertly) by government agencies and the police.  It’s an uphill task, but we are thankful for their protective activity.
