June 2017 Bishop David of Ely and Huntingdon fb Co Mtg

Mon, Jun 5th 2017 at 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm

Speaker - Bishop David of Ely & Meal. Speaker Host - Suzie Filmer, General Host - Sian Franklin, Cashier - Mike Smith.

Today we had an interesting evening  - Bishop David of Ely and Huntingdon (Rt Rev Dr David Thomson) spoke to us about his approach to the idea that Science and Religion are not compatible.

He eloquently refuted this idea and made it very obvious that many outstanding scientists have very strong faith. His moderate approach to the Bible and its interpretation made his a very open and inclusive church.  His enthusiasm for his subject shone through everything he said and the thought provoking range of questions that followed made the occassion a very memorable evening.

We were delighted to include 2 possible new members in the audience !.
