Jun 2017 Kids Day Out at Wimpole

Wed, Jun 14th 2017 at 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

an annual activity day for special primary schools

We had a gloriouslyy sunny day and everyone had a Great Day Out !

This annual event is a very popular one in our Club Calender, 6 of us helped this year.

We join together with 5 other Rotary Clubs to staff a big fun day for special schools around the area.

We sponsor the Castle School.  92 children attended this year !

We split the day into a visit to the Wimpole Farm and a field full of fun activities like Face Painting, Bouncy Castles, Drawing, Kite making, Free Ice Cream Van, Georges Magical Music Box and all sorts !

Special T-shirts and caps are ready for everyone and picnics are the order of the day.

Book in with our organiser Rtn Alan Shipp.

Huge thanks to Wimpole Hall and the National Trust for loaning the field and cutting the grass for us, and to the volunteer team of Tesco Staff who ensured no-one went hungry.  Hearts Services supplied the friendly First Aid Team who were very calm and patient throughout.

Clubs included Royston (main co-ordinators), Cambridge-Sawston, Haverhill, Cambridge, Cambridge-South and Baldock.

Schools included The Castle School, The Granta School, Haverhill School, Colville (Cherry Hinton) and Meldreth Manor School.
