Jun 2017 Mini-Olympics Transport Stewards

Tue, Jun 20th 2017 at 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

If you are available do let Alan Shipp know.

This annual sports event for youngsters is organised over all by Sports Cambridge - designed at giving the children an idea of many of the olympic sports while encouraging them to enjoy exercise and experience a mass rally.  Youth leaders staff the day.

This annual club project supports primary schools across the area. This year 1500 children arrived within about 30min at the University Sports Ground on Wilberforce Way, Cambridge in the morning, then left again at the end of the event.  Coaches, vans and cars streamed in to and out of the area. Some stayed and parked while others bustle off.

For many years now the organisers have relied on our Club to manage the local roads and fill up the car parks as quickly and neatly as possible.  Ideally we need at least 6 of us.  The peak times are about 9.30 to 10.30am and 2.30 to 3.30pm.  Cones and stewards (in high vis jackets) need to be in place in good time.
