Rotary Club of Farnham helped in the organisation of a special walk for sufferers of epilepsy

Group of walkers and organisers

A group of  walkers assembled at Waverley Abbey House.  They had largely come from London and the South East but also included contingents from as far away as Scotland, Manchester, Liverpool and Stoke.  They were planning to complete the 10k  “Purple Walk” from Waverley Abbey House to Tilford and back, in aid of Young Epilepsy.  The walk was to be followed by lunch and then family games in the grounds of Waverley Abbey House.

The organiser, Carol Hunt, said, “ I was thrilled by the way participants embraced the event, not only to support Young Epilepsy, but also each other…and to support the 112, 000 children and young people living with epilepsy in the U.K.  I would also like to thank Waverley Abbey House, the Mayor and Mayoress of Farnham, The Rotary Club of Farnham (who provided the marshals) and all our volunteer helpers.”
