Chatham Dockyard Visit

Mon, Nov 20th 2017 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

Visit to the Historical Chatham Dockyard with John Fisher as our Guide

Chatham Dockyard is the most comprehensive collection of historic ships,  buildings and exhibitions on one site in the UK and probably in Europe so we are fortunate to have it at hand. Naval activity started in 1559 when "Gillingham Water" became the main anchorage for the Tudor Navy Royal and ceased with final closure in 1984.

In November the dockyard is open from 10:30 until 4:30 with free parking.

Normal entry is £22.50 (for an annual ticket) with concessions (60+ with ID) £19.50 with a further incentive if we book online in advance.

There are several options for lunch and it's planned that we'll make a group reservation.

We'll plan our visit around the daily display of rope making at 12:30 and then be selective as we won't be able to see everything in the time available.

Please remember comfortable shoes and come equipped for ladders and narrow spaces!
