Talk from pupils about their experiences at the LIYL Summit.

June 2017

Four senior pupils from Webster’s High School gave an excellent combined talk on their experiences at the 2017 Loudon International Youth Leadership Summit which hosted representatives from 23 countries. The Summit was held in Loudon County, Virginia, USA. The group was accompanied by teachers Julia Carson and Neil MacIntyre. Their trip was supported by funding from this Rotary Club.

At this summit the students were addressed by motivational speakers and the major topics for discussion were Education, Environment and Sustainability, Ethics and Racial Division and Refugees and Migrants. This event made a great impact on these students who returned invigorated and enthused. They have also made many new friends around the world.

Note:- The pupils were selected by a panel including the Lord Lieutenant of Angus, Mrs Georgiana Osborne, Willie Porter and Norman Atkinson.
