Susan provided us with a very interesting , informative thought provoking and some would say humbling talk on her dedicated work with the under  privileged children in Africa over a period of twenty five years and still on going.

Her life overseas started in 1989 as a VSO volunteer working for the Child Welfare Society of Kenya which was meant to last two years, she was there for four years.

She then moved to Save the Children where she has held directorships  and provided consultancy in  a wide variety of the different aspects involving the health ,education ,welfare and security of children where in September 2016 she became the International Child Safeguarding Director her present post.

She was in Uganda for four years  where she was involved with the effects of child  abduction ,in Angola for four years where there is extreme poverty, then Liberia where there is much sickness and one in nine children die. Ebola was also a problem along with child abduction. She then spent 4years in Nigeria where there was the problem of financial inflation, causing malnutrition and the problems of the abduction of a large number of young girls by Boko Haram

She then moved on to Sierra Leone.

Her list of activity and variety of involvement is very extensive and when I tried to contact her she had returned to Senegal and before the year end will revisit Nigeria ,Senegal and Sierra Leone.

Any member wishing to learn more about her accomplishments can read her CV below.
