Bolton Schools Music Festival
Children from across Horwich took part in the week long Bolton School’s Music Festival in June.
Choirs from St Catherine’s School and Claypool sang on the first night.
Chorley New Road Primary School choir sang on the Wednesday, whilst Horwich Parish School choir, sang on the Thursday evening.
All the children also joined with choirs from other schools in excellent Massed Choirs. Horwich Rotary sponsored this fantastic event at the Victoria Hall Bolton by the Bolton Schools Music Association. In all 2000 children from 55 schools performed at this most enjoyable festival of music.
As the chair of the Bolton School’s Music Association Val Deary said, ‘The Festival has given many Bolton school children a wonderful musical experience which they will remember for years to come.’
David Howarth, Vocational Committee chairman of Horwich Rotary, said "We have sponsored this event since 2009 and have seen the tremendous effort and work from dedicated music teachers in Bolton. Each year we have seen the standards raised and it gives us such joy to see the children and their families enjoying the performances."
Horwich Rotary hopes that it will be able to continue to support the Festival which next year will be its 50th year. Photographs by courtesy of Bolton News
