Knaresborough Rotary Club has welcomed District Scout Commissioner Helen Westmancoat to membership.

Knaresborough Rotary Club has welcomed District Scout Commissioner Helen Westmancoat to membership. Educated at the Barr Convent in York, Helen studied German and Librarianship at Aberystwyth University before working in London. After marrying fellow Librarian John, the couple moved to Knaresborough in the 1990’s.  Helen worked as an Academic Librarian at York St John’s University where she became a University Teaching Fellow. A member of St Mary’s Choir and Knaresborough Musical Society, Helen lists walking, theatre and sky diving amongst her hobbies. So far Helen has completed 28 parachute jumps raising funds for a variety of charities. Since 2015 Helen has been the District Commissioner for Harrogate and Nidderdale Scouts. Well known to several club members as a supporter of Physionet Helen was introduced to the club by President Elect Mike Dixon and welcomed as a member by President James Moorhouse.
