Twinning

One of Rotary’s priorities is to work for peace and international understanding and another is to encourage social interaction between Rotary Clubs at home and overseas.

One of Rotary’s priorities is to work for peace and international understanding and another is to encourage social interaction between Rotary Clubs at home and overseas. Following in the tradition of the Bristol/Bordeaux exchange that celebrates its 70th   annivesary in 2017 the twinning between our two Clubs became official in 2006. Every two years groups of Rotarians and their partners spend a weekend with their host Rotarians and enjoy a lively programme of social and cultural visits. In 2016 we were in Bordeaux and we look forward to hosting our French Rotary friends here in the autumn of 2018. We also support each other in helping to fund occasional International projects such as our Water-Survival Box and their recent project in Madagascar involving students from the University of Bordeaux.
