Club Meetings - Border Force - Nicholas Anthony

Robin presenting Nicholas with his certificate as a thank you for his talk on the work of the Border Force.
Nicholas Anthony spoke to the club about the work of the Border Force which includes:
- checking the immigration status of people arriving in and departing from the UK
- searching cases, vehicles and cargo for illicit goods or illegal immigrants, and
- patrolling the UK coastline and searching vessels
Nicholas bought with him a number of items that had been confiscated from people entering the UK.
These include stuffed animals, fake clothing and Flying Squirel droppings!
We were also shown some of the drugs that have been found using sniffer dogs

The Club supports many youth activities including "Crucial Crew", a vital educational programme about safety for year 6 schoolchildren in Ipswich, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), Rotary Young Chef competition and supplies Dictionaries 4 Life.
