Wollescote Primary School year 6 students, have wowed the Rotary Club of Stourbridge with their Community fundraising program. Over the last 6 months they have raised an astonishing £350 through a number of activities, including a Car Wash, sponsored swimming, cake stall and others.

The money will go to the Childrens Hospital, through the Rotary Club of Stourbridge, as voted by the participating children.

The school has worked in partnership with the Rotary Club of Stourbridge for the last six years, projects include workshops at Birmingham City University and entering 26 year 6 pupils into the Junior Rotary Community award. To achieve the Rotary Award children take part in a range of activities in four areas - Community Service, Skills, Physical Education and Social Experience.

“Taking part in the programme has raised pupils’ awareness of the services they can access in their local and wider community, including those for leisure and educational purposes. They have developed a greater knowledge of what it means to be a citizen of Dudley and how they can help others within their community.”
