The benefits gained from this year's 20th Anniversary Saffery Rotary Walk just keep coming.

The Inner Wheel Club in Guernsey put out a call to walkers to return any shirts no longer worn so that they can be sent for the benefit of an orphanage in Tanzania. Collection stations were set up around St Peter Port and this resulted in a presentation of shirts on Thursday 10 August by Inner Wheel president , Amanda Milsted, and Past President Gill Girard (pictured far right and left) to Susan Wilson who received the shirts on behalf of the Tumaini Fund.

Also pictured (second left) was Rachel Parrott of event sponsors Saffery Champness.

She said, "We get immense pleasure from seeing the continued evolution of the charitable aspirations of the Saffery Walk Committee,  In addition to all the local charitable benefits that emanate form our Walk, this most recent development now extends the good achieved by our walkers to encompass this seriously deserving cause beyond our shores. Our congratulations and thanks go to the Walk Committee and the Inner Wheel Club for making this happen."

The second photograph shows The Tumaini Fund in Kagera, Tanzania handing out the leftover and donated Saffery Rotary Walk T-shirts to the orphans. It's great to see the T-shirts being used for such a great cause and making a difference to orphans' lives in the region!
