President Ritchie welcomed Emma Wood from the Rotary Club of Portobello and Gift Thompson from Malawi. They visited Leith to tell us about STEKA (Step Kids Association) in Blantyre, Malawi. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world, where 11% of children attend school and only 1% attend College! STEKA is an organisation working in partnership with Rotary, to raise money to build 3 skills centres (at a cost of £7,700 per building) to allow the

Leith Rotary was established on 17th April, 1952 and "Chartered" on 21st July, 1952. There were 26 members of the Club when it was chartered. The Rotary Club of Edinburgh is the 'Mother Club'. There are now 25 active, and 1 Honorary Member.
