Desert Island Discs Evening

A great Evening of Entertainment Fun and Music

What a great night for our Desert island Discs. Thanks to Rotarian Malcolm Robertson for compering the evening and to SVP Anne Sampson for pulling the eveing together along with Wilna Roger. Great to see Rotarians from Methil and Buckhaven and Kirkcaldy Rotary clubs coming along to support us as well as all the other guests, A great variety of music from all the castaways, IPP Brian Johnson, Ron Page, Chris Grist and friend of Rotary Lyndsay Clark

We had music ranging from Mozart, Beethoven, Jean Michell Jarre, Fife Strathspey and Reel Society, The Lone Ranger Theme, Rod Stewart and Steppemwolf to name but a few.  What a great variety.

The hotel was decorated  with palm trees, and grass skirts, pictures of deserted beaches were projected onto the wall and all the guests wore floral leis - a few even dressed in Hawaiian gear such a brilliant atmosphere.

The evening ended with a special story from Rotarian Archie Lawrie and his lovely wife Maureen.  The story spanned a 35 year separation for the couple after a teenage romance,a special piece of music and finishing with a wedding a year ago!

Thanks to The Gilvenbank Hotel for providing a lovely 2 course buffet
