Next Challenge 9th May 2020
Here are a couple of UNSOLICITED testimonials!....
Hi Bala Challenge,
A quick thank-you to you and all your team for an excellent day yesterday - brilliant organisation from a great group of cheery folks. And you organised perfect weather!
Well done - see you next year.
Hi Bala Challenge,
I forgot to email you, to say "thank you", what a fantastic event! Both Maria & I loved it. ….What a great route & scenery….the best LDWA event we've done to-date…..And those cakes at the Checkpoint in Llanuwchllyn were so good they even stopped me in my running tracks. ;) Even the weather was lovely. There's a good chance we'll be back next year, and we're spreading the word. Thank you to you and your colleagues. :) Paul
On behalf of the Rotary Club of Bala & Penllyn and the Rotary Satellite Club of Glannau Tegid, President Adrian and his team would like to thank everyone who took part in the 2019 Bala Challenge walks, along with the sponsors and volunteers who together made it a memorable and successful occasion.
Once again we were blessed with beautiful weather, sunny and temperate with only one rogue episode - shower of hail which for a short time fell for a short time on the 20 mile walkers and the Aran checkpoint.
180 people took part in the walks and the club raised over £2500 for our supported causes.
A full list of sponsors and beneficiaries will be published on these pages once the final totals are in.
Once again - THANK YOU - we really do appreciate your support.

Rotary Charity Activities
Recent Rotary Charity activities have proved an outstanding success. The main event was "the Bala Challenge" in May, when 180 walkers took part. The day was ideal weather-wise - dry and not too warm! The response of participants was most encouraging and appreciative of the sights, organisation, stewarding, refreshments and socialising. Walkers came from near and far - several from Penllyn and some from the South of England amazed at the natural beauty of our locality. Many returned from previous years proving the event's appeal. The "Challenge" raised over £2500 for charity and good causes. In addition a Coffee Event was held on May Fair Day mainly in aid of Ysgol Godre’r Berwyn Nursery Unit which raised £325.
