Allan Leonard - Professional Gambler and Race Horse Owner

Speaker 19th September 2017

We were entertained by Allan Leonard who describes himself as a professional gambler and bloodstock agent.  He gave a lengthy description of his early life spending time at the racecourse in Singapore rather than at school followed by education at Oxford, obtaining a law degree, working as a city trader and all the time finding time and money to gamble.  Subsequently he has mingled with the 'very wealthy' who are able to indulge themselves in the purchase and training of 'top notch' racehorses.  Allan advises on appropriate purchases and training of bloodstock for a professional fee.

Allan appears to have had an interesting life with mixed fortunes [not always his] as an internet search of newspaper articles in 2000 will confirm.  He is a 'larger than life' character who clearly enjoys an audience who will listen.  A good evening with some insights gained into a very different life from that most of us understand.

Allan has his own website for anyone interested:  allanleonard.com/
