Kirsty Snyder – Guiding Overseas Linked with Development

Thu, Mar 15th 2018 at 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Kirsty will speak to the members on her trip to Chile under the Guides’ GOLD project
H&R: Roy Simpson & Malcolm Southern
VoT: Paul Begley

Tonight’s speaker, at the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw, was Kirsty Snyder, the daughter of club Rotarians James and Katrina Gibbons.

Kirsty, who is married and lives in Australia, is now a Rotarian, herself, having recently joined the Rotary Club of Maffra, in Victoria.

Her talk was about GOLD which is Guiding Overseas Linked with Development which enables young guiders to develop their potential and make a difference in the world by improving their skills, experiencing new cultures and making a long term impact. Kirsty spent a number of weeks in Chile and she explained, in detail, the experiences she had encountered. As she travelled throughout Chile, there was no doubt, that all the girls she met shared her love of Guiding.

After Kirsty answered a number of questions, posed by the members, Senior Vice President Andrew Steven proposed the vote of thanks.
