Club Meeting

Mon, Sep 18th 2017 at 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Luke Addison IPP Rotaract GB&I

Luke

Rotaractor Luke, whilst at University in #Winchester was so inspired by the genuine nature of Winchester Rotary Club that he, along with some friends, set up a branch of Rotaract. Their new Rotaract Club started by initially supporting the Rotary Club with some of their projects, but after a short time, they started developing, with the support of the Rotary  Club, their own projects, which included a project for the homeless.

Luke also attended a PeaceJam Conference in Monaco at which he facilitated a drama workshop for teenagers on Conflict Resolution, and also met and engaged in discussion with Nobel Peace leader Archbishop Desmond Tutu. He  subsequently established a PeaceJam institute at Winchester University; organising the first conference in March 2015 attended by around 80 young people from around the world as well as the Nobel Peace Laureate Jody Williams.

Luke is now living in the family home in Woking and is a great advert for Rotaract and Rotary generally, and has plenty to offer, and is very happy to offer it.

We were very grateful for his contribution to our evening.
