Harrogate Conference

Winner of the District Attendance Cup and supporting International charities

At the Harrogate Conference we were delighted to be awarded the District Attendance Cup at the recent conference, which is a tremendous achievement. Whilst at the conference we supported ‘School in a bag’ and purchased 20 of these.

‘School in a Bag’ is a simple solution created to help poor, orphan, vulnerable and disaster affected children throughout the world. Each Schoolbag is filled with stationery equipment and resources that will enable a child to learn key skills. Each Schoolbag delivered to a child will give hope to his or her future and has the potential to transform their lives.

On returning to our Club we forwarded a cheque for £500 to the charity “500 MILES” as we were so impressed by Olivia Giles address at conference. This is a Scottish charity founded in 2008 to help people with mobility difficulties and to give them a chance to live independent lives.
