Rotarians prepare to set of in the procession

Getting ready to set off in the procession.

After a number of years of helping from the sidelines, members of Chard Rotary Club decided to become part of the main event by entering a small, hand pulled float into this year's procession. The float was prepared by Rotarians Dick Arnold and Mike Trott using some of the " We're for Communities " posters.

Around half of the Club were involved in the day's events including acting as road marshalls for the lunchtime Children's Carnival Procession, pulling our own float and collecting in the evening procession and helping to collate the judges scoresheets.

Unfortunately the evening was marred by a tragic accident to one of the road crew from the Eclipse Carnival Club float and the best wishes of all at Chard Rotary Club go out to the injured woman, her family and everyone else who was involved.
