Rotary Table Quiz

Thu, Oct 26th 2017 at 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Our annual Table Quiz in Howth Yacht Club. €10 per person / €40 per table.

Each year in October we hold a Table Quiz in Howth Yacht Club to raise funds for a local cause and our own International cause - Polio Eradication.

This year's local cause is Howth Tidy Towns for which we hope to raise funds to enable them to continue the great progress made in recent years. Tidy Towns is a terrific way to bring a community together and allow people to contribute their time and talent in so many different ways - whether with landscaping, the built environment, sustainable living, local wildlife or litter control. Rotary is a service organisation and supporting volunteers in other service organisations is part of what we do and so we are delighted to our bit to support Howth Tidy Towns.

In 1985, Rotary launched its PolioPlus programme, the first initiative to tackle global polio eradication through mass vaccination of children. since then worldwide cases have fallen from 350,000 per annum to just 11 so far in 2017. The immunisation programme needs to continue for a number more years to ensure Polio is completely eradicated from the face of the earth. The funds from our table quiz will go directly towards the next immunisation drive in January 2018.
