Breakfast Meeting at The Stragglers

Wed, Dec 6th 2017 at 7:15 am - 8:30 am

Stragglers Coffee House at SCCC (St James Street entrance)

Flying the Flag. Oh, Say can you see by the dawn’s early light? - Star spangled stragglers as they breakfasted and chewed the fat, as it were.

17 members and 5 guests (Lawyers and Accountants) enjoyed an hour of social chat and getting down to business.

Rory had an outline of a project suggested by his visit to Eden Camp, North Yorkshire. [see www.edencamp.co.uk] a modern history museum set in a Prisoner of War Camp. If Norton Manor Camp is to be closed, was this a site which could be used as a Somerset Theme park, to attract locals and visitors? Could it be a multi-Club project over a number of years? In aid of Military Charities?

Monty put forward the Abbeyfield extension, but also said that there was a need for Day Care for the elderly, on another site. Local and Business knowledge and contacts would be useful to tap into.

Closer ties with Round Table were welcomed and a joint meeting in the New Year was promised.

Next Meeting 11th December at SCCC will be Business. d/r Rob Clasby
Monday 18th December is Christmas Meal with wives/partners. d/r Will Coles

Wednesday 3rd January will be a Breakfast Meeting.
