Business Meeting at SCCC

Business Meeting and SGM to elect Club Officers for 2018-19


35 Members and Colin Ayers were present, and the meeting commenced with the President dropping the clanger!
SGM: All the agenda items were formally approved by the members present.
1. The annual accounts for year ending 30 June 2017, which were judged to be in good health by Martin Lock, Treasurer. A detailed breakdown of charitable contributions will be circulated by Martin.
2. Kathryn was confirmed as President Elect for year commencing 1st July 2018
3. Vice President and President Elect for year commencing 1st July 2019 -Tony Blackshaw.
4. Secretary for next year - Andrew Janes
5. Treasurer for next year - Martin Lock

The position of Club House Committee Chairman remains vacant, and members interested in this position should contact Keith Bigwood.

Business Meeting items: Kid's Out Day will be on June 13th 2018.

Youth Speaks will not take place this year due to lack of schools' interest. However, Phil Greenway urged better liaison between the two Taunton Clubs to ensure this initiative was not lost in the future.

International: The three Club Kenya Gods Favour Academy Ruiri toilet initiative is under review to determine the best sanitary system to use. Kathryn will report back in due course. She will also report on the status of the Gambian project once she has determined the position with the Head of Queen's College.

The Meeting Programme is well planned into 2018, and two key dates are the Charity Dinner on March 24th and the Hinton Skittle Trophy Match on March 26th.

Members congratulated Rory on his role as the future District Governor.

Next Meeting: Christmas Meeting with wives/partners December 18th. Apologies to Richard by Friday 15th if not attending or not bringing partner.

First Meeting of 2018 will be Breakfast on 3rd January.

Bird Bath presentation at Abbeyfield

Taunton Vale Rotary Club has recently celebrated their 40th Charter anniversary. To mark the occasion the Inner Wheel Club of Taunton Vale have donated a bird bath, and this was handed over to Abbeyfield Residential Home in Bishops Hull.
