Young Chef 2017 - 18

The lead up to this year's competition starts in the schools


The first of several rounds of the Young Chef competition started at Springwood High School on 10th October 2017. 54 students took part using local produce preparing a two course meal from scratch in 90 minutes. One of the judges, Michael Prince, the Sous Chef at the Neptune commented " I was very impressed with the quality of the dishes that the students produced"

The winners were Rachel Dack and Inndia Howard with Jessica Moore in the reserve place

Further rounds will take place at KES, St Clements High, Marshland High and CWA and the winners will compete in the Local Final to take place in the College of West Anglia on 16th January 2018 and the winners of this round will go through to the District 1080 Final in February, a Regional Final in March and the National Final in April.

We wish the winning contestants from all the venues continuing success as they progress through the competition
