Gideon Scott’s Funeral, Friday, February 23rd:

            Gideon Scott’s funeral will take place tomorrow at Christ Church, William      Street, Herne Bay at 3.00 pm.     There will be a reception after the funeral            at 4.00 pm at King’s Hall.    Should anyone wish to join them a band will            leave the Clock Tower at 2.45 pm to process to the church.

Donation to Pilgrim’s Hospice in Memory of Gideon Scott:

            Nick proposed to the Club that a donation of £100.00 be made to Pilgrim’s    Hospice in memory of Gideon and this was agreed.

Sue Vargyas:

            Sue has had a knee replacement and everyone wished her a swift       recovery.

Tony Giles:

            Tony was most grateful to the Club for the donation of £500.00.   He will       shortly be off to the Gambia where Pippa will be joining his team.

Ten-Pin Bowling Evening, Friday, February 23rd:

            Just a reminder about the Ten-pin Bowling tomorrow evening.      The            timings will be 6.00 for 6.30 pm at the bowling and 9.00 for dinner at the           Thai Orchid, 82 Middle Wall, Whitstable.

Board Meeting, Thursday, March 8th:

            The next Board Meeting will be on Thursday, March 8th at Robert’s House     at 7.30 pm.      All members are welcome to come along.    Anyone would like any issue to be raised at the meeting please let David K. know before           the meeting so that it can be added to the agenda.

RC Canterbury Sunrise, Hog Roast, Saturday, March 10th:

            RC Canterbury Sunrise are organising a hog roast at the house of one of

            their members on Saturday, March 10th and welcome anyone who would      like to join them in celebrating their 10th anniversary.    Details will be         circulated shortly.

RC Westgate & Birchington, Valentine’s Day Murder, Saturday, March 10th:

            RC Westgate & Birchington are organising a 1926 Chicago gangster    murder mystery on Saturday, March 10th.   Details have been circulate.

Car Parking, Saturday, March 17th:

            The next car parking will be on Saturday, March 17th and Godfrey would       welcome more volunteers so please sign up if you can help.

Evening Meeting, Thursday, March 22nd:

            The speaker will be Emma Slade of Opening Your Heart to Bhutan.      Guests are welcome.   There is a menu and form in the folder.      This is a           regular meeting of the Club and apologies should be given to Godfrey as             usual.

Walk4Water, Friday, March 23rd:

            David M. has organised a meeting at the University next week to finalise         arrangements.    Dates need to be agreed with schools taking part for the          presentations.     The backpacks have arrived and Andrew B. has them.

Stroke Awareness and Car Parking, Saturday, April 14th:

            Sarah is organising stroke awareness to take place with the car parking         on Saturday, April 14th and needs help taking blood pressures.    If you can       help please sign up on the form in the folder or contact Sarah direct.    She   would also be glad if she could borrow blood pressure monitors for the        day.

Quiz Evening, March or April:

            Robert proposed that the Club organise an informal Quiz Evening at the        Golf Club on a Thursday or Friday evening in late March or early April.    This was agreed and details will be circulated shortly.

Mobility Aids:

            Pippa and Spyros are collecting unwanted mobility aids – wheelchairs,           zimmers, walking sticks – which are reconditioned and sent to Africa to   help disabled people there.      If anyone has any unwanted mobility aids Pippa and Spyros would be glad to have them.

Master of Alms:

            Nick and his little car did the honours.

Raffle:

Jenny won a bottle of wine.
