The Big Crocus Plant 2017 is underway!
Several of our District clubs, keen to add to last Spring's Sea of Purple, planted more corms this year, ready to burst into bloom at the end of February 2018
Thanks to quality corms from Gee-Tee Bulb Company and some skilled planting, the excellent results from Rotary's Purple4Polio partnership with the RHS last year inspired yet more planting around the Thames Valley in October and November. In addition to planting in prominent places in their locality, some members joined RIBI President Denis Spiller, Purple4Polio Ambassadors and other Rotarians from all over the country to plant 50,000 purple crocus corms at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on World Polio Day to remind the world that we MUST End Polio Now! Failure is not an option - polio is just a plane-ride away and as long as even one child is infected, all children in the world are at risk.
