Shoeboxes

Filling Shoeboxes

A huge thank you to our Inner Wheel ladies for their donations of knitted goods, puppets, toiletries, stationery etc. and cash (which allowed cost effective bulk buying of items) and enabled us to fill 41 Rotary shoeboxes.  The very efficient team which included our President Cynthia spent an enjoyable morning filling the boxes, with a well earned coffee and biscuit break half way through.

The boxes, together with a bag of warm woollies, have now been handed over to Gareth Hughes, the regional Rotary contact, for transport via the warehouse in Preston to Kiev, Ukraine in December.  The boxes are distributed through established Rotary contacts in the region and bring joy to children and old folks alike

Our Club has supported this scheme for many years - long may it continue!
