"Maggie's Cheltenham Gold Cup Day"

The Rotary Club of Thornhill and District are hosting a charity race afternoon at The Friars Carse Country Hotel, to be be held on Cheltenham Gold Cup Day, Friday 16th March 2018. A huge thank you goes to Nick Brown (General Manager) of Friars carse for allowing access to this fantastic venue.

We have arranged TV coverage of the afternoon's races kindly supplied by T N McKay's. The first race starts at 1:30pm with the final race starting 5:30pm and the charity we have selected is "Maggie's" It seems appropriate to be raising money for this worthwhile cause when the venue is so close to Portrack the home of the late Maggie Jenks who was responsible for the starting up of Maggies.

We will be offering a Prosecco Reception on arrival, during the afternoon further drinks and refreshments can be purchased from the venue bar. In addition David Stirk of The Creative Whisky Company will be offering samples of their whiskies and gin. Liz from Moniaive Chocolatiers will be providing samples from their Tartan Chocolate range to the guests. Afternoon tea's will be included and most important there will be facilities to have a flutter on the horses.

Tickets are available @ £40.00 per person to include Prosecco reception and afternoon tea, numbers are limited to 150 and we are expecting a high uptake so a prompt response is advisable. Download the booking form and return it with remitance to:

Brian Hunter, Dunnit Knowe, Corstorphine Road, Thornhill, DG3 5NB.
