Our Christmas Meal December 6th at Oake Manor
To say that 'a good time was had by all' is an understatement. The food was very good, as usual, the company excellent and the choir superb.
What a good idea to invite partners and friends too; so many people in the room! Well done Cynthia and Liz , you are certainly living up to your motto of 'Fun and Friendship' for this year. It was so good to see past members too. Very few were absent but their absence was noted, especially those who are ill at the moment. Get well soon.
The music was provided by the Somerset Hills Chorus, and what a treat that was ! Beautiful harmonies from an a cappella group, singing in barber shop style. The programme ranged from Carols, it is Christmas after all, to popular songs and many old favourites for us to sing along. Some of us even got to jingle bells when they sang that song.
In May 2018, the Chorus will be hoping to better their 2nd place this year in the Sweet Adelines International Convention competition. A safe bet, I think.
A great evening full of fun and friendship.
Our next meeting is 7pm at Oake Manor, 10th January, 2018.
The SECOND Wednesday of the month, this time.
We hope to see you then.
Have a HAPPY CHRISTMAS AND A PEACEFULNEW YEAR!
