President Elect Michael Parrott was in the Chair and Jeff Subbs Chairman of the Nantwich Civic Society paid a welcome return visit. In a comprehensive and interesting talk, he brought us upto date with the Society's aims, objectives and achievements, especially during it's golden jubilee anniversary  last year. Now it is looking forward to the next 50 Years, wondering what will and should happen in the town and neighbourhood.

Jeff thinks that in order to maintain the Town's very special character, inevitably, more housing will be needed, if our local shops are to be supported and kept open. This will bring challenges, not least as far as infrastructure, parking, schools, medical services, etc, are concerned. We must not go down the regrettable Crewe Town Centre path.

He concluded by thanking members of our Club for their practical support with balsam bashing. coppicing, helping school children to plant bulbs. President Tony continues to give a lead in all this.

Rotarian Stuart Rhodes thanked Jeff for an interesting and informative update on a thriving Civic Society.
