IT Competition Presentation at The Gerrards Cross Memorial Centre

At a reception at the Gerrards Cross Memorial Hall on Friday 27th April, sixteen book tokens  were handed to prizewinners of the annual MISBOURNE MATINS ROTARY CLUB Louis Moss Junior IT  challenge. The late Louis Moss had initiated the competition and it has been a regular feature on the club’s calendar ever since. Not only did sixteen pupils walk away with book tokens but the winner in each age group also took away a cheque for £100 for their school. A further prize was given to the best entry from a non-winning category school

The challenge for the young students was to use their IT skills to generate a poster advertising ‘a school event’. Over 1,000 entries were received from years 3,4,5 and 6 from schools across the Chalfonts and Gerrards Cross, Beaconsfield and Denham

Entries were judged by Claire Weston, and Rotarians Keith Dilley and Michel Syson. The subject had clearly been more of a challenge this year but standards remained high. Winning entries were Mia Gomez-Onwuemene (Chalfont St Giles Junior School yr 3), Chloe Richards (Chalfont St Peter Academy yr 4), Lilianne Jervis-Allan (Maltmans Green School, yr 5), and Freya Tang (Seer Green CofE School yr 6)

The best entry from a non-winning category school was Lara Pitman (High March School). The challenge was sponsored by BP Collins Solicitors, and Nick Moss Estate Agent.
