Polio Eradication

The eradication of polio is one of Rotary's most significant efforts. We have helped immunise more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. We have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won't stop until we end the disease

As well as donating funds to the Rotary Foundation for this cause, the Rotary Club of Newcastle has arranged for the planting of 5,000 crocus corms as part of the programme to raise awareness for te campaign.

These were planted in the grounds of the Scotswood Natural Community Garden in Newcastle last autumn by volunteers from the garden and are now in flower.

Further pictures are available on the Scotswood Garden page on this stire
