Supporting Cranleigh Riding for the Disabled Association

From the funds raised by our various events during the 2016-17 Rotary year, the club made a donation of £4,750 to the CRDA

The photos show the presentation of Woolsack's donation to their Chairman, Liz Harrison by our Immediate Past President Seymour Baker.

Cranleigh RDA – covers Godalming as well as the Cranleigh area and part of Guildford.  It “offers therapeutic riding to people with disabilities to benefit their health and well-being, to achieve their goals and to have fun!  The experience gained through riding and contact with our horses and our volunteers helps them develop self-esteem, confidence and independence.”.

Their premises were in urgent need of updating as the stable block was past its useful working life and in danger of collapse. The new facilities have secured their future with a new building fully fit for purpose.

Our support meets several of Woolsack’s goals as riders’ ages are from 8 to 62 and their disabilities are wide ranging.  This was a truly worthwhile project that has brought tangible benefits to many people.
