NEW FOREST ROTARY HAD ITS ANNUAL COLLECTIONS AT CHRISTMAS.
COLLECTION TOTAL OF £3,976 WAS RAISED FOR WESSEX CANCER TRUST AND OTHER ROTARY SUPPORTED CHARITIES.
This year we had a solid week commencing on Monday 17th December with about 20 Rotarians and partners formed into a choir and singing in the main store at Asda Totton. Jim Knight was on the keyboard and Anne conducted. Great fun and started the colloection buckets off. We then adjourned to theThe New Forest pub at Ashurst Bridge for a jolly meal. We then started six days of collections, three at Asda and three at Morrisons.
Two members of Wessex Cancer Trust helped with the collection on one day.
The collections were run by Tony Roe, who put in a huge amount of work, not only organising the rotas but throughout the weekcut was readjusting them as illness and other emergencies caused gaps. Tim organised the meal out - no easy task. Special thanks to Ken Ball and Sally who not only collected and counted the cash each day but did multiple sessions and thanks also to George, Tina and Tim who also did multiple sessions.
