Get Set North and the Washington Rotarians
Participants in Get Set North and the involvement of Washington Rotarians
It was an early morning call (6-45) for Washington Rotarians, from Washington Rotary and Forge, They were asked to be course Marshals. by Events Director “ Get Set North Events” Ian Arnott. And his company would make a donation to our Rotary clubs. Ten Marshalls jumped at the opportunity,!!
The Triathlon event includes the excitement of racing, on a fast and fairly flat lapped, bike course, with Transition at the swimming pool, at Washington Galleries Leisure Centre. Which is where the event started. The Run takes you on a” looped course”, with a number of laps, depending on the distance around Princess Anne Park.
Competitors came from far and wide. Young and not so young. But all took the event very seriously. With determination to complete the whole course,
Neil was Marshall at Biddick Academy Mini Roundabout, and got to know the bikers pretty well, by the time they had passed me three times, each time more redder in the face, and panting, but when they saw me, it put a smile on their faces. About 60 took part.and finished at 9-45.am
Everyone Active were thanked by Ian for their support and use of the Leisure Centre. Also The Rapid Reaction team, etc
The next event will be held on 8th July. Anyone who think they are fit enough then contact Ian Arnott at firstname.lastname@example.org
