Pippa Zintilis:
Pippa is at home recovering from a hip replacement. Jackie visited Pippa on Tuesday and Jill and David K. went to see her yesterday. Pippa is in good spirits, making a good recovery and hopes to be able to manage the stairs at the Golf Club in about three weeks. She would welcome visitors or calls.
Reggie Taylor-Harding:
Reggie is having a series of tests at the Medway Maritime Hospital for an eye problem and expects to have the results later this week. Everyone sends him their very best wishes.
Andrew and Pat Brealy:
Congratulations to Andrew and Pat who are to become grandparents.
Indonesian Tsunami:
The Board will discuss how the Club can help at the Board Meeting on Thursday and Andrew B. would welcome any suggestions as to what the Club might do. The Club has already paid for Shelterboxes this year to be held in readiness for disasters by Shelterbox and Spyros and Pippa very kindly offered to pay for another.
Crocus Corms:
It was hoped to have these in time to sell at car parking on October 13th but they have not been delivered yet.
Shoeboxes:
With Christmas in the offing it is time for Shoeboxes. Kathy will bring the leaflets next week and will have the date by when Shoeboxes must be collected. If anyone has any spare empty shoeboxes please bring them along.
Lego Tokens from Sainsbury:
Nick is overwhelmed by Sainsburys Lego tokens but if you are not collecting them please pick them up nevertheless as Pat can put them to good use.
Thursday, October 11th, Board Meeting:
The next Board Meeting will held on Thursday, October 11th at 7.30 pm at Sue’s house.
Saturday, October 13th, Car Parking at Whitstable:
Godfrey would welcome some more help especially between 1.00 and 3.00 pm..
Saturday, November 3rd, Gardening at the Whit and Tank:
Please note that the date has been changed to Saturday, November 3rd. There is a revised form in the folder so please sign up if you can help starting at 9.30 am.
Friday, October 5th, Cheese & Wine Tasting Evening, Cheesbox, Whitstable:
This has been cancelled because of lack of support. Instead Ron and Irene have very kindly invited everyone to an evening at their home on November 23rd.
Saturday, October 6th, Chestfield Shrub Bed Project:
Calling all gardeners! If you are a dab hand at clearing, weeding and general tidying up the children’s play park on Chestfield Road you will be very welcome on Saturday, October 6th starting at 10.00 am.
Friday, October 19th, RAF Museum, Hendon:
The trip is now almost fully booked.
Friday, November 23rd, Cheese and Wine Evening at Ron and Irene’s:
Everyone is welcome at Ron and Irene’s for a cheese and wine evening at £5.00 per person in aid of Club Charity Funds on Friday, November 23rd at 7.00 for 7.30 pm. There will be a form in the folder next week.
Wednesday, December 12th, Christmas Decorations at the Whit and Tank:
Christmas is coming and with it time to help put up the decorations at the Whit and Tank on Wednesday, December 12th at 6.30 for 7.00 pm. Please help if you can.
Friday, December 7th, Christmas Dinner:
Forty-eight have now signed up for the Christmas Dinner so only two places remain. Sue needs menu selections in the next few weeks and the menu will be circulated shortly.
Sunday, December 9th, Christmas Collection:
It is getting to that time of year again when Santa needs all the help he can get from willing elves for the Christmas Collection in support of the Food Bank and Catching Lives. Santa and his sleigh will be waiting at the junction of Primrose Way and Chestfield Road at 4.00 pm on Sunday, December 4th. There is a form in the folder.

Kathy won a bottle of wine and David K. a bottle of pickle.
Master of Alms:
Despite the absence of his little car from overuse Nick managed to make a sizeable contribution to his target for the year.
