Tony Giles:

Last year the Club provided 150 special marker pens costing £1.50 each for Tony Giles to use when operating.   He uses these to mark the site for operations and they can be used only once as they have to be sterile.      Andrew B. proposed that the Club donate £225.00 to cover the cost of another 150  marker pens and this was seconded by Ron and agreed by all present.

Godfrey Brown:

Godfrey will be back at Rotary next week and apologies should be sent to him as usual.

Crocus Corms:

There are still crocus corms to be sold and everyone was exhorted to take two packets to sell.

Shoeboxes:

Many thanks to Kathy for organizing the Shoebox collection and to everyone who contributed.

Quiz Night, Saturday, November 17th:

It was an excellent evening and thanks and congratulations are due to everyone who took part in the organization, especially Jean and Andrew M.   The final total raised will be announced when David M. returns but nearly £600.00 was taken on the night.     An incomprehensible discussion took place over the colour of the raffle tickets but it was suggested that the draw for the raffle probably went on too long.

Pat and Sue represented the Club at drinks and nibbles evening at Pilgrims’ Hospice on November 21st.

Friday, November 23rd – Cheese and Wine Party:

Ron and Irene are hosting a Cheese and Wine Party at their home at 4 Richmond Road, Whitstable, CT5 3HS at 7.00 for 7.30 pm.    Everyone is welcome but please let Ron know in advance if you are going and have not entered your name on the form in the folder.

Saturday, November 24th - Young Chef Competition:

The dress code is either Christmas Themed or lounge suit with something Christmassy.

Sunday, December 9th – Christmas Collection:

The annual Christmas Collection will be held on Sunday, December 9th meeting at Primrose Way, off Chestfield Road at 4.00 pm.     The cards need to be delivered by Wednesday, December 5th at the latest.    There are forms in the folder for signing up to deliver cards and for the collection.   Help will also be needed on December 10th at Jean and Andrew’s house to sort and pack up the collection.      Jenny was asked if she could produce details of any families she felt to be particularly in need of help at Christmas.

Wednesday, December 12th – Christmas Decorations at the Whit and Tank:

The Club will be putting up Christmas Decorations at the Whit and Tank and taking them down on Thursday, January 3rd.    Help is needed on both days and there are forms in the folder.
